In the Clinic
When she wants to make me a little crazy, she leaves hints. Last month she put a lace handkerchief scented with her perfume in my shirt pocket, and a few weeks before that I found her stocking on my car seat. When I find these things, I know that when I get home we are going to have some sweet and often very intense lovemaking. Its our little game.
Yesterday I was in Pulmonary Clinic and was about to examine my first patient of the morning, Al, an older fellow I have cared for since I started in this hospital. He is always a bit gruff but funny, and we have a good relationship. We seem, however, to be playing this odd game. I tell him what meds to take and how to exercise, and he complies as long as he is sick or short of breath; but as soon as he is better he reverts to his old ways. He returns to the clinic when he is sick again, expecting me to somehow fix him up. I tell him he has to listen to me, he shrugs his shoulders and says he’s too old to change, but can I make him better just one more time? Its our little game; Al sets the rules and I more or less have to go along, or he may not come back to the clinic at all
I entered the exam room and greeted Al, my first patient of the morning. He was looking a bit more short of breath than usual, but not in acute distress. We chatted as I washed my hands and I got his recent history. I took my stethoscope from my labcoat pocket, put the earpieces in my ears, and began listening to Al’s chest. For some reason, Al began laughing, so I gave him a quizzical look, by raising my eyebrow. That made him laugh harder, so I raised both eyebrows and he laughed so hard he began coughing. I removed the stethoscope from my ears, patted him on the back, and waited til he could breath again.
“Ok Al, what’s so funny?”
He pointed to my stethoscope. I looked down to see a pair of tiny pink lace panties hanging from the earpiece.
