Not just an ordinary food craving

As soon as I get back to the Philippines very soon, I’m devouring this:

It’s none other than sizzling pork sisig! No doubt that it’s really unhealthy, but who cares?! It’s a Filipino food that I’ve been craving for quite a while now since I left my homeland. And just thinking about its sour-spicy taste, the fried egg that goes with it, and the hot rice, my oh my, I’m almost salivating! Hehe!! I think there’s also sisig here in California but it wouldn’t be the same as eating it in the Philippines, where the atmosphere is warm and so are the people. 😉

While I searched "sisig" at Google, I was really surprised to see that Wikipedia has its own definition of sisig! Amazing!

Second to my Filipino food cravings is the kinilaw (or kilaw). It can be fish or shrimp that’s soaked in a spicy vinegar sauce. Flip’s father often makes it and I always find it in their dining table whenever I visit their home in Dumangas. His shrimp kinilaw is just the best. As Rachael Ray would say, Yum-O!!! It’s Flip’s father’s birthday today, by the way. Or at least it now is in the Philippines, since they are 15-16 hours advanced. I greeted him through SMS, he replied and we got to text for about 3 messages more. I’m really glad and thankful that I have a wonderful relationship with Flip’s parents, so does he to mine. It’s such a blessing. 🙂 Anyway, Flip and I already have plans as to what we’ll eat and where when I come home. It’s kinda crazy but we’re food trip freaks! Until then, the shrimps, fishes and pigs in the local restaurants will just have to wait. 😉
