Cancer

Most words, if you say them enough times in a row, seem to lose their meaning. To become nonsense.

"Cancer" apparently isn’t one of them. 

Cesar has cancer. My husband has cancer.

Has? Had? If they remove the tumor, does that make it past tense? Is it any less a part of who you are; who you have become because of it? What your life has become because of it?

We are so lucky. He is alive and he will stay that way for the foreseeable future. 

Radiation starts in about a month.

I saw your entry on the front page. I went through this with my Mom last year. She had a tumor in her bone. Cancer sucks. If you need someone to talk to let me know.

My grandmother, aunt, and cousin have all had cancer. All have survived–so I’m always thankful. I’m glad they have got it under control, medicine has come a long way!
