A lot of randomness
I really need to find a belt that doesn’t put holes in my shirts. You can’t hear my, but I am harumphing.
*harumph, harumph, grumble, grumble*
On a more positive note, I start my new job tomorrow. Which I haven’t even elaborated on yet. It’s a waitressing job, but the most kick ass waitressing job I have ever heard of. It’s in a high end wine bar called Vino Volo in the airport.
I am guaranteed 40 hours a week, I get to learn all about wine, base pay is 6$/hour plus tips for the first 6 months and 8$/hour after that plus tips (which according to the manager are never less than 14$/hour since they are pooled), that makes at least 20$/hour, which means I will probably be making nearly twice what I would have been at most of the social work jobs I have applied for, I am guaranteed at least one weekend day off or every other weekend off, they close at 10pm so no 2 or 3 AM closing shifts, the company pays for a yearly wine retreat for all it’s employees once a year, and I get health insurance, 401K, and paid vacation.
Yay for run on sentences. So, all in all, a pretty awesome gig. I will be able to pay my bills and move out of my mom’s house again. Lyss and I are planning on moving in together and aiming for March 1st. I can last three more months here.
Plus now I can start volunteering at the animal shelter. Which is pretty exciting.
On a more serious note, I am seriously considering offering to be a surrogate mother for my cousin. After 7 miscarriages, one of which nearly killed her, the chances of her ac tually carrying her own baby aren’t good. She and her husband want a baby more than anything else in the world. I have been thinking about it for about two years now, and while I am not ready to do it just yet, I think I am going to talk to her about it and offer it as an option for another year or two in the future.
