the “mmmm”er

I am at my internship and there is a meeting going on in the next room. A man has been explaining a legal case for about 15 minutes now. And there is an "mmm"er. By which I mean, there is a woman who is "mmmm"ing after every sentence with varying inflections. Surprise. Disgust. Contemplation. Agreement. Encouragement. It is practically an endless hum coming out of her throat.

I want to stalk in there, shush her very sharply and point out to her what an annoying habit it is.

It wouldn’t bother me if I wasn’t already annoyed that I have to waste my time here.

Just thought I would share.
