poseidon: the sinking ship

i.

my heart
has its sea legs
          (equal in equine strength)
the lingering salt
soothing the wounds
it passes through

ii.

fishermen cast their spells
from uneasy decks.
my equine strength
                       (my bones,
                             my blood,
                                  my history)
a sacrifice
to bring on St Elmo’s Fire.

iii.

our islands sit
like frogs around a pond.
they watch from shipwrecks
along the shore
                (this burning purple glow)
poseidon is swallowed
by raging waters

            (his mother too late
                       to save him now)

somewhere, a fisherman
is eating my heart

.

[sometimes i think i have found myself again]

All too real.

I like this one too, but it doesn’t have the same effect as your last one had on me. Maybe it’s just my foggy Monday morning brain that can’t comprehend anything yet…

I really like ii.

And I was thinking that yes, you should keep writing.
