glimmer.

The Da Vinci Code was a phenomenal book. Not because of the masterful writing style or the plot twists, no, because of the amazing research that went into it’s creation. There were so many fascinating “facts” or nonfacts, who can tell threaded into that novel. It created this beautiful tapestry of facts and maybe facts that all seemed to work together into a flawlessly beautiful novel. I couldn’t put it down, not because of the plot twists, but because I wanted to learn more.

The best way to learn is to not learn. It’s to be interested and challenged by a thought or activity and pursue it. When learning is forced, little is accomplished. Sure, a few things may remain in your head after, but nothing substantial. To learn by doing, to learn by actively seeking will fill yourbrain cells with new synapses and neural connections. It’s phenomenal.

I enjoy work that involves both my intellect and physical ability. I like to do manual labor, but only when I have toconsider what I’m doing. I like to work using my brain, but only when my muscles must be stretched too.  Today, I did some real manual labor. Hacking up clods of dirt and spreading them. My arms ache and my hands have blisters. But it’s wonderful. It involved planning and back aching work. It was splendid.

After I took a much need shower. My hair is now silken soft. And I feel languid. Wearing my linen pants and loose sweatshirt. Life is good and the birds are singing.

perfection. And this is my third recent entry here. Maybe I’ll turn back the test of time. Maybe I’ll start this thing back up and enjoy the vibrant community of intelligent thought, when I can find it. Maybe there’s hope yet.
