2 weeks
Down to the wire.
Only 2 weeks left before we make the glorious trek back to the Motherland haha.
I feel like I have so much to do and so many loose ends to tie up, but really I don’t. I finished my last shift at Pier 21 today. That was kinda sad. I’m not really gonna miss work- but I will miss Pier 21. It was great being someplace that I actually liked. Why is it that the places you volunteer are always so much cooler than work? haha oh well. I got a reference out of the supervisor there, so that’s a bonus!
In the next 2 weeks, we have to finalise our trip back, pack, entertain my friend for a week (which is cool that she’s coming), and see things that we have been meaning to see. I am sure showing my friend around will give me a chance to stop and take some more photos of Halifax and such. It should be a good time!
I am officially registered at U Ottawa now!! I have my email, my confirmation of registration, and all of that stuff in line. I also found out my OSAp total- $12 240!! That’s a huge amount! I’m sure it’ll be enough!! haha. Now, I just need to find a place to live- really one of the most important things haha. There are a few places my friend in Ottawa is gonna look at for us, so we’ll see how it all goes.
Also looking forward to Justin and his gf Amanda coming to visit me in Ontario in late August!! Probably gonna hang out in Wasaga Beach and TO. Show them the sites and such. Hang out at the beach, drink, and hang out- it has been about 2 years!!
In a totally unrelated topic, my unlistened to Podcasts list keeps growing. It’s kinda sad. I used to be on top of it, but I just find that i don’t have the patience, energy, or attention span to listen to hour long podcasts. I love the shows I am downloading, but no time to listen to them. Maybe at school I’ll have more time. Until then, I’ll just keep downloading them.
It’s been brutally hot here this past 2 weeks or so. Apparently the entire northern hemisphere has been baking under exceptionally high temps. Maybe it’s time to really get serious about climate change and global warming? Stupid neo-cons around the world (including Canada’s PM) stalling efforts to make things better.
Ughhh. I really don’t want to have to pack. Haha I’m really tired of moving all the time. I really (and still, actually) wish I had a place of my own to store all of my stuff, as opposed to my parents’ places. My Dad wants to sell the house in Clifford, which I don’t blame him. So that will be gone soon- and my Mom’s place is not home for me. I was talking to her a few days ago and she said that her place is my home…and I just thought for a second- no it’s not. My home is in Clifford where I grew up. Some house my mom rents where I have never lived (nor plan on it) will ever be my home. It sounds mean, but it’s true. I don’t think I’ll ever refer to her house in Wasaga Beach as "home" but rather "my mom’s place."
Ughhh. I have to clean this room before Kayleen arrives on Wednesday.
woot!!! good luck on the move!
