Happy February
So January has come and gone, rather quickly it seems. I suppose time has been flying by at an incredible pace for the past few years. Oh God! I hope it’s not like this forever. However, I have heard that time speeds up as you get older- if it’s this fast now, I can only imagine what the rest of life will be like. But I digress.
January was a really good month for me- full of new things and changes. Basically, because I moved to Halifax. Lots to see and do. In a month, I have begun learning a new city, transit system, seeing history, walking around and absorbing as much as I can. I have also spent a weekend at a farm in Northern Nova Scotia- about 30 minutes form the NB border. That was alot of fun. Froze all weekend, slept in a really tiny room with 4 other ppl, used a 1920s style wood stove (literally stove and oven) for heat, and crammed on a queen mattress with 3 other ppl on the floor of the tiny room. It was ALOT of fun.
I have been looking for work and I seem to have a lead on Build a Bear Workshop, so we will see what happens there. It would be nice to work there, so I am hoping.
Since moving out here, I feel rejuvenated. I seem to have my energy back and desire to do things. I have been keeping busy by going to talks at various libraries across the city- ok so far its only been 2…but I am looking into going to a few more.
February looks to be promising as well. Krys comes out in a few days, which is awesome. I am also looking at other things to do in the city, like the museums and other things like that- just waiting for Krys to get here. Also the prospect of employment is exciting. It will give me a schedule to go one, which is nice. Structure can be nice to keep you going. I am also going to be volunteering with Blood Services which will also help keep me busy.
And lastly, just to keep my nerd aspect strong, I plan on reading up on local history and taking notes to better educate myself for when I am a teacher! YAY FOR NERDS!
