L’Halifax

I just don’t have the energy or desire to write here much now. I think it’s because it’s not like anyone really reads it…and God knows I barely re-read entries. However, having my life documented somewhere seems to be a comforting thing…maybe so then I won’t be forgotten. Who knows.

Anyway, on to more exciting things! So I have been living in Halifax for 2 weeks now. I really like it here. It’s very picturesque. So much to see and do. I am still learning it and looking for employment and such but I really like it here. I have been out walking around downtown, to the Legislature, to a few pubs, to a few malls looking around. I went out to Herring Cove, which is right on the Ocean, and just other random places in the city.
I am really trying to make the best of my time here and be happy and actually live life. After my down months in Guelph and not enjoying it or anything, I am hoping to have a fantastic time here. Once I get a job, I plan on putting some money aside so I can travel a little once the weather is nicer in the summer. Also, plan on frequenting some pubs to hear some music and such. I know you don’t HAVE to buy anything, but it’s nice to have a beer and listen…or many beers and get into it haha.
My roommates are all really cool. Steve is from Australia and is working. Shauna just finished school at NSCAD (art school), and Matt is at Dalhousie for Librarian Masters program. All a very interesting mix of people. Works well, for the most part.
I am also planning on staying more active now that I am here. There is a pool across the street from me and swimming is really cheap on Friday evenings (2$) so I plan on frequenting that often. It will be good. There are also alot of parks and neat neighbourhoods to walk around to stay active. It also helps that I basically have to walk the 3 blocks to downtown to catch most major buses- there are also hills so it works out really well.
I have such high hopes for this move- essentially life altering full of learning, fun, enjoyment, and life. I’m excited for all of this.
