Thank You

All she wanted was a thank you… That’s all she wanted… Just a gesture of appreciation from him… Then a voice in her head told her, " If you want a thank you, then do something thank you worthy." Ok, she thought… No problem… So the next morning she got up early and tried with all her might to get him up as well… (They are always late for work) She thought she was being helpful, but they still ended up late… His fault this time… At least it wasn’t her… No thank you there… So she tried again that night… By cleaning… (I know, I know… But it was still a good try) She was going for "Thank you for keeping the house so neat." Instead she got a "I love you baby, goodnight." Nice, but not what she wanted… Day #2 was more successful… She woke up early and got the fire going… ROARING in fact… Made some coffee… (She hates the taste, but loves the smell, he loves to drink it when it’s  chilly outside) Got his clothes together for work… Then she climbed back up in bed and whispered in his ear, " Goodmorning love, it’s a beautiful foggy morning and the trees are still asleep. I’ve made the fire and coffee is waiting whenever you want to get out of bed." And she kissed his forehead and went to climb back out again when he grabbed her waist and held her close and whispered, " Stay here, I don’t want to get up yet." (*swoon* ) So they cuddled a little and then she slipped out… Did some more chores and when he finally woke up he was happy… "Thank you for making coffee baby." That was all she needed to hear…. She almost cried…. So then she went about her business… Made sure that he had his keys, wallet, phone… Reminded him that those shoes needed to be changed before he went to work… "You are being so helpful today… Thank you." She beamed…. You’re welcome…. The moral of the story… If you want a thank you, do something thank you worthy.
