Looking back – looking forward

I’ve been deleting notes left on my diary over the past year. It was an interesting experience, seeing notes left by people who dropped by for a period of time and whom I’ve not heard from since, notes left by people needing some advice or information, and notes left by people who’ve been dropping in regularly. Some of these note leavers no longer have diaries on OD, and I wonder how they are and what they’re up to.

I’d like to take this opportunity to say thanks to those who’ve supported me over the last year, especially those who been regular readers and note-leavers (I won’t mention names, you know who you are). Some of you I’ve not been all that good at keeping up with your diaries. There’s been no reason for this other than not having enough time.

May you all have a wonderful 2003. Please join me in doing all you can to work for peace in your part of the world. Be a person of peace to those in your family, to friends, to the person you sit next to on the bus, to the person who serves you at the supermarket, to those on your school sporting team; especially be a person of peace to those who get on your nerves. And be a person of reconciliation, doing all you can to heal the rifts, small and great, that exist in your life.

Only in this way can the onset of war be reduced and eliminated.
