Life has been keeping me busy- but things are going great and I’m in such a good place right now 😉
Here’s a recap of things that are going on/have gone on in my life:)
* This past Sunday I finished my second half marathon. Ran it with my friend/neighbor/old college roommate Suzanne. Our goal was to beat 2 hours 20 minutes – and we both did! I ran it in 2:17:52 ( a new personal record or “PR” in “runners speak”..lol) and she did it in 2:19:02. I feel really good about my run- what a sense of accomplishment! Now even more so looking forward to our next half marathon which is on Thanksgiving day and only about 6 weeks away….now I know what I want to work on to make my run even stronger, so hopefully that will go just as well!
* been dating this guy Kirk for about a month. We met after I went on a bad first date and then went to meet up with 2 of my girlfriends. He is the older brother of one of my girlfriend’s friends so when we ran into him, she introduced us and we hit it off. Sounds cute in theory and he is GREAT on paper! (graduated from Tech, cute, Italian, Catholic, works for a GREAT company, drives a Porsche, etc.) and I have been trying SOOO hard to give it a chance. But I’m just.not.feelin.it. He’s very sweet, no games, etc. (ex. He calls me every Monday to ask me out for that weekend), but his personality just isn’t there. The conversation does not flow that easily, and to put it plainly- I find him kind of boring and not engaging. Oh well- I tried. At least I can say that. He called me last night (as expected) but I haven’t called him back yet. Will today after work and I guess I’ll have to end it. If he wasn’t the brother of a friend, then I would just do the fade out- but can’t do that here. Oh well… Guess I’m back in the game. Again.
* Participated in my first Book Club last night. I have to say, it made me feel old (well, maybe just “mature” is a better word) but it was fun. We had read “Jemima J” by Jane Green (GREAT book! Which I had actually read in college, but loved it all the same for the second time around!). Fun times, good conversation, and the wine was a-flowin…I think I might dig this book club thing 😉 Not sure what the next book is yet…
* My little brother bought a ring. He’s now in the process of trying to think of a “cool” way to ask Kristin to marry him. I could not be more excited for him. I love Kristin and I think they make a great pair! I will say that it is a VERY weird feeling to know that your baby brother is getting married before you, or your older brother, but I guess he just got lucky. And they have been dating for about 4 years, so it’s definitely time. I hope he proposes before Thanksgiving so that I can see the ring when they visit!
* Tennis is about to start up again in November and I’m so excited for it! Our team moved up divisions, so there are 5 lines to play now instead of 3 so hopefully that will mean even more playing time. Can’t wait!
* Going to back to CO for work this weekend. This time I’m staying in Denver. I’m really excited b/c my friend Jeff lives there and he’s going to be my tour guide. I don’t have to work until Sunday afternoon and on Monday, but I’m flying there Saturday morning- so I have all day Saturday and Saturday night to explore Denver, and have some fun. Can’t wait!
Phew- I think that’s about it for now…off to go catch up on you faves! 🙂

That’s great for your little brother. I’m personally happy that I was just a couple months shy of 30 when I tied the knot, but I always cheer for the high school and college sweethearts. Denver’s awesome; I hope you have a good time. Half marathon? Girl, you be crazy. If you wanna do a whole one, there’s one here coming up. azz on. I’d line the route too and cheer your azz on if you ran it. Except I forget your real first name, so you’d have to tell me.

Hope you are having (or had if you are back) fun in CO! I can’t believe your lil bro is getting married, that is so crazy! I can’t believe my little sis just got married, too. Weirdness. Congrats on your run! I have been seeing your FB posts and it sounds like you’re really into it. I think I might try this half thing someday soon…need to start training. Book club is fun, right?!
