little moments

I was wearing bluejeans, and an oversized sweatshirt. On my feet were a pair of slippers. My eye makeup was smudged from a failed attempt at liquid eyeliner this morning, and my long-wear lipstick had been faded for a few hours.

I walked into the kitchen. My mother looked at me and said, “Look at you lookin so gorgemous.”

I raised an eyebrow at her. She said, “You always look gorgemous.”

I paused for a minute, and grinned. “I know.”

At the market later with my mother, I saw Nick (Mr. Perfect Kiss). I waved and smiled; he was behind one of the registers as we walked past them. He waved and smiled back, and we continued on to the Customer Service desk. A few moments later he came up to me with what was left of the giant bag of DumDum pops he kept in his car. “Ohh! Gimme lollie!” I squealed.

“Hold on a sec, I’m getting there!” he said, opening the bag. I reached in and grabbed one, and attempted to see what flavor it was. “Strawberry lemondade,” he said before I even got it out of the bag. I dropped it and picked up another–one of the mystery ones with a question mark wrapper. I opened it and it was pink. Already disappointed that it wasn’t cream soda flavored, I tasted it and made a funny face. He started naming off flavors and I knew that none of them were right. I held out the pop and he tasted it. “Bubblegum.” I wrinkled my nose, but took it back and continued to suck it anyway while we chatted.

After a few minutes he had to get back to work, but before he did, he leaned forward and kissed me. Just a small little peck, right on the lips. “I’ll see you later,” he said.

I’ve decided that since I’m not really doing anything of consequence lately, i need to pick a moment each day that made me smile, or laugh. (or cry, as the case may be). Today I had two moments 🙂

I like your idea of picking moments in the day that make you smile

I think your diary is hard for me to read, but it’s ok. Thanks for the note. I hope things are going ok since I have not heard from you much. I hope you had a nice time at the market when you went with your mom. Did your mom see you get kissed and if so how did she feel about it? If she didn’t see you get kissed it’s ok. Not sure what the lolipop thing was all about, but that is ok.
