interview

*Does a little dance*

So I finally decided yesterday that I was annoyed at not having recieved any info or phone calls on any of the jobs I applied for a month ago, so I sent out my application (online) to about 4 more places, plus the phon-a-thon again, since I kind of ignored the email the first time around (since it was my last choice for a job option–it pays really well at $9/hr, but I’m really not keen on the idea of calling alumni and asking them for money).

Then today (as in just now) I get a phone call from the bookstore, which is one of the places I applied to a month ago. Oy vey. Oh well, this is good anywhos. So I have an interview later today! Yay!! How cool will it be to work at Barnes and Noble? I wonder if they have an employee discount… hmmm…..

In other news… umm… there is no other news? Wow, my life is dull. I have my first mid-term this week, and my first paper due next week. And I’m coming down with a cold. I haven’t figured out if it’s coincidence because of the season changes or if it has something to do with stress but I *always* am sick for midterms and finals. It sucks.

Oh! There’s exactly 20 days until my 20th birthday 🙂 I’m very excited to not be a “teen” anymore, even if the 20th birthday doesn’t really mean anything other than that. Still a year until I can legally drink… in *this* country anyway ;-)… I’m seriously planning on going to Argentina this summer for a 6-week study abroad program, which will be tremendously fun, I’m sure. But back on the subject of my birthday… some people have been asking what I want for my birthday. I really don’t know, and definitely don’t expect anything. I’ve had very small birthdays the last few years, and it doesn’t really bother me (that much :-P). But I DO have a Wish List on amazon.com <–clicking the link will take you directly to it (I think).

I had off work this past Saturday for the first time in AGES so I went out to dinner with my friends. We went to a tapas restaurant with mediterranean style food. It was soo incredibly yummy. I’ve been to a tapas place before, but this one was sooo much better. The best part was, Toni’s friend from Rhode Island (who is 21) was visiting. So she ordered a glass of Sangria with her dinner. When we realized that the waiter wasn’t going to card any of us (all he did was look at the table and said, “You’re all old enough to drink, right?”) we all ordered wine. I didn’t want to go for the Sangria (and after having a taste of someone else’s I’m really glad I didn’t) so I ordered a Pinot Grigio. At $7 a glass it was the best damn wine I’ve ever tasted 😛 For dinner I had this cucumber/tomato salad with feta cheese, tossed in a basalmic viniagrette, zuchinni fritters that had this positively *decadent* cheese sauce, and Swordfish kebobs over couscous. And for dessert, dave and I shared some baklava, and something else that involved custard, pistachios and phyllo, although I can’t remember what it was called. I couldn’t move for like two hours afterwards. It was awesome.

I ordered a new antenna online last week, so hopefully I will have at least network television very soon. I’m suffering tv withdrawal. Not because I watch a lot of tv, but because I need the background noise. I “watched” the season premiere of grey’s anatomy (which I had taped) 6 times this weekend, just so that the tv could be on while I was doing other things.

Let’s see… what else… I finally got a notice that the student loan I applied for will be disbursed shortly, so that’s very yay 🙂 Things are definitely looking up as a whole.

I’m sorry I’m so boring lately, but such is life.
