Isabelle C. Twisdale
Isabelle C. Twisdale, 80, of Red Hill, formerly of Philadelphia, died Wednesday in her home. She was the wife of Robert T. Twisdale since October of 1950. Born in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Philip and Lillie (Williams) Flemming. She spent most of her life in the Philadelphia area before moving to Red Hill. Her first employment was with the Pennsylvania State Store, Philadelphia, where she was a clerk. She then worked for the I.R.S. in Philadelphia for several years doing accounting and clerical work. Her last employment was with the U.S. Post Office in Philadelphia, where she worked until she became disabled in 1976. During the 1970s and 80s, she ran a ceramics business in her home. She was a member of St. Pauls Evangelical Lutheran Church, Red Hill, and a former volunteer for the Upper Perk Meals On Wheels. She was an avid reader, and was a member of book clubs through the Upper Perkiomen Library. She also was a member of the former Ceramics Hobbyist Club, Chester. Early in life she was a Boy Scout troop den mother. Survivors: Along with her husband, she is survived by three sons, Terrence C. and his wife, Melissa, of East Greenville, Michael P. and his wife, Mary Beth Kowalski-Twisdale, of Wilton, Conn., and Kevin C. of Pittsburgh; six sisters, Amanda Vanderhorst, Roberta Bembry, Florence Comfort, Irene Watson, Juanita Daniels, and Consuela Vales; two brothers, Phillip and Henry Flemming; three grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, and Corryn. She was predeceased by two brothers, Philip and Henry. Services: will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 13 in the Falk Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 163 Main St., Pennsburg. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Sunday and again from 9-10 a.m. Monday in the funeral home. Contributions: Grand View Hospice, 700 Lawn Ave., Sellersville 18960.
