i’ll do it tomorrow…

yea, i know i have to update this thing for real, and not just let kate write in it for me.

as a part of my academic probation this semester, i have to meet on a weekly basis with a “study consultant” who basically tells me how to manage my time, how to study, when to study, etc etc… today we discussed procrastination, and what types of procrastination there are. she says there’s two types of procrastinators…the first type is those who think that they always have time to do something–a week, a few days, a whole day– and then realize all of a sudden that there’s only a few hours or less in which to do it… the second type is those who always have something planned–sports practices, social events, club meetings, or that one TV show that you just *have* to watch– and put their work off until after the event is over, but then they’re too tired or just dont want to do it… we’ve determined that i’m a combonation of the two types of procrastination.. for example, on weekends, i know that i have a lab report due most mondays.. so on thurs, fri, sat, sun(during the day) i put it off saying *i have plenty of time*… then sunday night comes, and at 8pm is charmed, and immediately after it is desperate houswives… so its about 10pm before i even *start* on my lab report, and then i don’t get enough sleep, am too exhasted during monday classes to pay much attention, and come back to my room to sleep immediately after lab… then watch my monday night shows, and dont start my homework due tuesday until 9 or 10 pm… its a vicious cycle…. and as for studying–homework aside– i always feel like i have plenty of time to study until all of a sudden i realize that the midterm is tomorrow and i havent studied yet at all, and i have cheerleading practice tonight from 8:30-11pm, and i like to try to get to bed at midnight, especially on the night before a test, unless i’m pulling an all-nighter, which i already did one of those once this week, and my body def can’t handle two in one week…. so anyway……

i did recieve a bit of reassuring news though… one reason that i dont like studying is b/c i was under the impression that it had to be done for hours and hours at a time… my study consultant say study for a half hour to an hour, take a break, and then another half an hour to an hour.. and thats it! .. and as long as i do that everyday (rather than wait the night before the test), then i should be sufficiently prepared to take the test 🙂 … so anyway, i’m sure you didn’t really care about that much… so you want a funny interesting entry?

i’ll do it tomorrow 😉
