“Sufrimos cuando tenemos miedo de perder lo que somos y lo que tenemos.”
Every day in my Spanish class we are given a topic to write about as a warm-up before class starts. This was the proverb that we were given on Friday, and its meaning really hit home for me. I left the Spanish version there, because I think that it sounds much better in Spanish, but the English translation is this: “We suffer when we are afraid of losing what we are and what we have.” This is so unbeleivalbly true, and so beautifully stated, that I really have nothing to say about it. It rather speaks for itself, I think.
