I am positively ecstatic!!!!!

Remember that speech I wrote at about 11:30 last night? The one that I had to give today? The one that I didn’t practice at all ?

Well, today I delivered my speech for the speech tournament. I knew I had done fairly well compared to others in the room, but I thought that Carlini had a much better speech by far, and so I was expecting 2nd or 3rd place, if anything at all.  So by the time that Carlini was called for 2nd place, I had already resigned myself to not getting anything at all… I was absolutely shocked when I was then called up to recieve my 1st place trophy!!!

I still think that I didn’t entirely deserve it… my score was only 1 point higher than car’s :-/ … but I can say that ren and car both helped me: Ren gave me the topic for my speech, and carlini told me not to practice it.

I’ve been told that modesty is just as unattractive as vanity… but I can’t help it…
