So much for that …

"that" being my plans to watch the Canada Day fireworks with my family.

This one royal bitch at work(Whom I’ll dub M.F … your imagination may work now) keeps pulling every excuse she can to dump her weekend shifts, and as a result I get stuck with them, losing my days off because we don’t have any alternate workers trained on Graveyards … truck dying while she’s out of town, sick, etc. etc. etc.

The worst thing about this instance is that I wasn’t even asked if I could take the shift or if I had plans, or even if I minded … not surprising, seeing that the last time she had me fill in for her, she lied to me telling me she was sick, only to have her son (a friend of mine) call her on it and make her tell me the truth … which was that she’d been drinking during a golf tournament and was too drunk to work (which did not sit well with C.J., since he’d seen her on the golf course that day).

Anyway, I’m fairly certain she knew that she wouldn’t get me to say yes if she asked, so instead, she leaves a note in the staff notebook, asking C.J. if she could have Canada Day off to play in the softball tournament, knowing full well that there was nobody else that he could possible dump the shift on because we’re so short staffed right now … somehow, I doubt that C.J. even considered that she hadn’t asked me, or that I might have plans. Instead, I come to work to find a note saying "need you to work July 1, thanks"

I’m getting so tired of this … I work far too hard and way too much. I’m constantly exhausted, even during the rare occasions that I don’t get my off-days violated by call-ins and other such bullshit … I guess I should be somewhat happy that I’ll be getting time-and-a-half for working on a stat, and making up for a short week, but the calculation of $8.40 per hour X 1.5 X 8 hours ($100.80 before deductions), but the principle of the matter simply doesn’t make it worth the extra dollars …

anyone know of anything available with a higher wage and lower bullshit factor?
