A governmental kick to my …
Someone once said that the only 2 things to be sure of in life were death and taxes … I think they forgot Governmental cornflake wizzing.
Being that I’d had a student loan past due, the I was fairly certain that the Federal Government would scoop my $992 income tax refund (as they’d corresponded that they would do).
That they scooped it wasn’t surprising at all, but what they did was just a royal kick in the balls …
I get my envelope from them today, and I start reading the summary page, detailing how they have adjusted my tax credits based on unused tuition credits from previous taxation years. It sounds like they’ve done some big favor … until I reach the point where they total it to nearly $300 more than I expected … and finish it off with “we have transferred this amount to your loan”
$992 would’ve been bad enough … nearly $1300 that I’ll never see steamed my temperament … and the meager $75 they issued for provincial sales tax credit feels as though they just spit in my face …
But hey, it’s Government … answer’s in the question.
you could always just become a drug dealer…cash sales, tax free…… it’s a necessary evil, Hombre’…the only way to ensure that you don’t become the shat-ee is to climb the political ladder enough to ensure you’re the shatting party rather than the shat-upon. …and I swear the note wasn’t just with the sole intention of creative alteration and verbage of the word “shat”.
