the state of things

or perhaps the state of me

my sister called the other day and asked

‘so how’s things’  and right on cue my son flipped to a new channel and the first thing that was said was… ‘what state do you live in?’

and my first thought combined the 2 and i got …. things are trudgeing along in the state of flux.

seems appropriate really.
