tadpoles in the compost
ok they werent realy tadpoles they were just frog eggs.
but i thought it was very odd that a frog would lay its eggs in the compost pile. but then again it IS the moistest place in the backyard and lacking anything else i guess anything mosit will do. they were in the pumpkins we carved for halloween i turned the pumpkin oer getting ready to till it under and there they were. i hope they werent recent since i had to till them under i choose to tell myself that the cold and improper environment killed them long before i got there.
tadpoles evoke very good childhood memories for me.
we had this creek that ran thru the trees that seperated our apt complex from the one down the street. my friends and i used to go tadpole hunting every summer.
there was a runoff pool that was always very still so it was best. i can still feel the squish of the mud between my toes. we used to catch them at all stages and watch them change. im not sure what the others did with thiers but i had a very strict catch and release policy even back then LOL
hell i even was tossing the earthworms we found out before i tilled everything under. i even let loose the slugs much to mothers dismay! but its ok i dropped them over the fence into lydia and chucks yard! LOL they dont do flowers in the back and im sure itll take them a while to come back over the fence 😀
lilman is home from his weekend trip to his friends house so now its time to get him ready for school.
