Birthday Boi
Jays birthday was on Sunday, I was going to keep it a secret, so I told Jamie and Bren to shut it, but of course Jamie being the c!nt that he is dropped the hint, so I threw something at him before he left. So Jay knew that I knew, Oh well. It all went really well. In the end he wanted to go to the AWM, I am not interested in the history of war in any shape or form, but I suffered through it, and he enjoyed himself (who would want to go there on their birthday?) after wandering around aimlessly for 4 hours we went to the café for lunch, it were quite boring and overpriced. Jay went back to Sydney today, and will be back again Wednesday. THEN THAT IS IT! NOT MORE TRAVEL! IT’S ALL DONE. Thank fcuk. I can have my boyfriend back
We went wandering around Friday night at the Hyper-D, I bought a couple of pieces of much needed warmer clothing. But in the process of wandering around ran into Mel. I have not spoken to her since I moved to Sydney, so almost 3 [2?] years this December, she was with her sister I didn’t see her initialy, she pulled me over. I was quite surprised, I thought she wasn’t talking to me anymore? I had missed her company as we got along well. We had a brief chat, and decided to meet up during the week, but come Saturday I called her and she came around and we chatted. Nothing much has changed with her, she is still working for the ANU in the graduations area, so I have put in an order for a PHD in something (I told her it had to be pretty). Turns out though she is a card holder for the CFMEU, and I hate unions – lets just repeat that for emphasis – I hate unions – and I especially hate the CFMEU, she is a staunch Labour supporter and I am a staunch Liberals supporter. We got into an argument, about unfair and unlawful dismissals, and told her if her sister wanted to work with me she would have to sign an AWA. We all know that the unions are extremely anti-AWA as it writes them out of the equation, no in-fact it doesn’t the unions just don’t want to have anything to do with them because it gives them less bargaining power, it doesn’t take away their right to enterprise bargaining though. Aww gawd this is a pain the arse, I HATE UNIONS.
The commission hearing was interesting. Interesting in the fact that I have to do it all over again. This first ‘meeting’ was with the registrar, and [as suspected] the first of two conciliation meetings. The registrar was nice [unlike most] she knew exactly why he [the ex employee] was there [more money, and at mummy and daddy’s say so] this was quite obvious when he refused reinstatement and went straight to the 28 weeks reimbursement, and retraction of the police and MP statement, all of which we refused. His barrister was a dotty old wench, who turned up 1 hour late, didn’t listen to a damn thing, indeed to the point where the registrar had to repeat herself two [three] times. So four hours of testimony [and much shaking of heads], each party was spoken to on an individual basis, [as suspected] she said we had a strong case but the only issues that she had was with the process, the finalisation was good, but process was slightly lacking. She asked if we wanted to offer him anything, and I told her I was under instruction not to negotiate. I obviously didn’t get to sit in on the complaintiffs meeting, but they refused to back down, we were then asked if we wanted to make a counter offer, to which I said no.
So long story short we have to now go back in for second conciliation w/ the Registrar General.
I have work to do, Ciao til next time
