What I have been up to (pics and video)

Yeah, yeah. I won’t say it anymore…..but I will. I think about it but I never seem to make it a priority to get over here to actually write. Life has been kinda crazy busy. Homeschooling keeps me on the run and with both kids in gymnastics, I tend to just veg out when I finally have a chance to sit down and relax.

So, yeah. The boy is in competitive gymnastics now which means we live at the gym. We are there four days a week. He is loving it and it has helped him so much in so many ways that it pretty much makes how much $$ we fork over worth it. He is doing very well and doing way better than I ever expected. He had his third competition this past weekend and he had an extremely good day. He rocked on the rings and took first place and managed to place 2nd in the all around for his age group. Pretty amazing. We are in throws of competition season so February will be crazy busy. We only have one weekend free.

Lily is also doing very well and she has been improving by leaps and bounds too. Who knows where gymnastics will lead for her but there is a good chance she may end up competing as well. She is only 5 though so a ton can still happen. She wouldn’t be able to compete until she is 7 anyway.

Schooling is going well. We have our days when we  struggle (mostly just butting heads when we are not feeling up to doing anything) but overall they do great and they have learned a ton. John is pretty much beyond where he needs to be in math and reading so I’m trying to focus more on other things like social science, etc (not that he is lagging behind but we could do more and incorporate so much of the core stuff in that as well). Lily is starting to read like a champ. Now if I could only magically make the whining and fighting disappear. I guess I should just buy ear plugs.

Here’s a video of John on the rings:

And some pictures. When did my children grow up?

Kids grow up so fast, it’s amazing. I remember holding my niece when she was less than 24 hours old. Feels like that was just yesterday. We just celebrated her 3rd birthday the weekend before last.

If you figure out a way to get the whining and fighting to disappear…you will be rich!!! John’s looks so mature now, there’s not much little boy left there. Crazy how that happened. He’s awesome. As if Lily, love the pic of you two together. 🙂

Wow! I can’t believe how much they grown!
