Halfway There

We’re halfway through our first week of hubby’s business trip.  It hasn’t been bad and actually, I find that the days are flying quickly.  It’s easier for me to get in a routine, I think, with the kids.  But, we are still looking forward to his return.  Even though it’s been okay, I am exhausted and could use some time to deflate (especially since I seem to be stressed out personally this week).  From what we know, these trips will happen regularly.  We just don’t know how often yet.  Maybe once a month or more like every other month.  Either way, I think the change helps everyone even if it can get a bit tiring on my end.  It’s all good.

Today’s special Advent activity was to "surprise" grammy and take her out to lunch.  The kids loved it.  It wasn’t really a surprise since I did warn mom ahead of time.  She can get flaky on me.  She tried to back out on me until I laid into her.  She’s getting into her usual Holiday funk and hopefully our visit will help keep her afloat until we see next week. 

Tomorrow their special activity is to go to Legoland.  Mainly I thought of things to keep us busy this week while we’re on our own.  It’s good to keep the afternoons filled so we don’t end up at each other’s throats.  

Oh, and for any long time readers out there who may still be reading.  My SIL FINALLY left her husband.  Shit hit the fan on Thanksgiving and apparently it was finally awful enough for her to do it.  OMG.  I have been waiting for this day for so long now.  Sadly, I know the next year or two is going to suck but with what she’s been through lately, I don’t know how it could be much worse.  I feel for her but she deserves better.  I hope the divorce isn’t as painful as she fears.  

The kids are in bed and I hope to get in a movie and do some knitting before I hit the sack.  Only two more days…..
