And the week goes on.
I feel a bit better about rehearsal yesterday, I’m sure I’ll find something to motivate me. Once we start actively working on it. Just needed to complain, get the negativity out so I could go on.
Had rehearsal for the second play today. Feeling much better about this one. The group dynamic is definitely more interesting, doesn’t feel like such a clique, also there is a variety of ages, making for quite a few different interactions.
We had warmup and then introductions, which gave everyone a chance to be seen and heard. Gives a better idea of who we’ll be working with. I really like the energy of the director too… his approach seems a lot more geared towards my way of working, so I’m looking forward to working with him.
None of the roles have been assigned, he had us read various parts, giving us a chance to get to know the play and the characters. I like the idea that nothing is locked in place. The play is unusual. It deals with some pretty heavy stuff, but in such a way that it doesn’t seem depressing. It’s got a lot of humour, and it’s well dosed. I think this will be a lot of fun… hard work though.
The show goes up on the 23, 24 and 25th of November… which is really soon. Unfortunately it means I will be missing the choir cabaret… I feel kind of bad about that, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity. I’ll try to help out as much as I can with it anyhow.
Today was productive. I finally got my lab report finished, I was able to get my organic chem homework checked ahead of time, so no surprises when I get it back next week. Got my lab prepared for tomorrow… It’s good, I’ll get used to this pace yet. Just need to make sure I don’t fall behind, because I won’t have time to get caught up again without sacrificing sleep, and that’s the one place we’re I’m not willing to cut, because the result just wouldn’t be good.
Glad you are feeling better about rehearsal! RYNs: The latest one IS about baseball. I wrote it last year about Alex Rodriquez. Alex is the best player in baseball, plays for the Yankees (hate them) and makes $25 million a year. He was having an off year last year and getting eaten alive by the New York media. This year, he’s back to his old form and fickle New York loves him again.

The other note is not about baseball. Apologies, my entries aren’t usually so cryptic. I am a fan of analogies, often they involve baseball, which is where this one came from. This story was about a girl, “Detroit”. She is a big Tigers fan, I’m a big Red Sox fan, hence, the birth of the analogy. It tells a story with a few hints about what happened in the end. I will explain more later…

Wow you have such a busy schedule. An unproductive day for you is probably a very productive day for me. lol I think I know the film you’re talking about. Beyond Rangoon with patrica arquette. I saw that too. I was born in Rangoon btw. Now they changed it to Yangon. Maybe they’ll make another film.

Glad to hear all is going well…RYN: Yes i do believe helping others does help me keep me sober, and its not part of what made me decide to get sober but just knowing and seeing where it can all lead to helps me keep going….
