Cottage fever

I’m excited…

After much negociations… I managed to convince my parents to swap the cottage for my apartment during Labour Day weekend. So I will get to take a break beside the lake for a few days before I start school.

The reason I wanted to swap with my parents is because I wanted to be able to invite some friends to come with me. Originally it was going to be Alice and Steven, my roommate and one of his friends, and possibly one or two other people. At this point, Alice should still be coming, but Steven is working, so she might invite Marie-Ève, my roommate is heading to New York, so he won’t come. Fred is coming, which may turn out to be interesting and other than that…  my friend Isabelle said she might be interested (but she tends to bail on me last minute… so who knows), my cousin was interested, but her brother is in town , so she’s not sure. Caro and Seb might decide to come if they can manage the drive back early enough, seeing as Seb starts school on Tuesday too. Other than that, Jaye (the guy who teaches me guitar, who’s become a friend) mentionned he was in the neighbourhood, so I gave him a standing invitation… just need to send him the address before he leaves to go camping.

Had a touch of nostalgia today. I was setting up my office, so I started going though all of my postcards and cards to pick the ones that I wanted to put on my wall. I started reading them, more than half were from Steeve, which a few also being ones that I had written to him and never sent…  It’s a little bittersweet reading them, it was interesting noting how different the style was as we both grew up… I’m tempted to send him a little email… just to tell him I miss him… He sent me a text message for my birthday… don’t know if I had mentionned it…

Well, my office is pretty much done… but of course in setting up the office, I threw a bunch of stuff in my room, so tomorrow I get to reorganise my room, but hopefully as of tomorrow night, everything should be done. Which is good, because I work pretty much every day next week, then I go to the cottage and then back to school on Tuesday!
