Hurricane

This is ridiculous.  According to my awesome wall clock (the one that sets itself) it is 70 degrees in here, and 53 outside.  That’s all well and good, but I’m sweating.  WHY am I sweating?  I’m not doing a damn thing.  The fan makes it too cool.  70 is a nice, comfy temperature.  I’ve found it necessary to use a blanket at 72, but here I am sweltering at 70.

We’re in the process of planning our post-marriage vacation (I actually hate the word honeymoon- I can’t really nail down why.  It’s… sleazy or something.  Probably got alot to do with the fact that all "honeymooon suites" in hotels actually contain the cliche big, red, heart-shaped hot tub) and for some weird reason I wanted new clothes, or at least new shirts, as if there would be something wrong with going to a new place in the same crap I’ve had for years.  I’ve looked around pretty much everywhere in town with disappointing results.  I think I already complained about all this at great length not too long ago, but to reiterate– I’m sick of t-shirts because these days they either have comic book characters on them (which I’ve been revelling in until now), smart-ass catch phrases (like, "Sorry, I wasn’t listening") or are simply imitating the style made popular by Affliction (or the actual product).  What’s left?  Button up shirts, polos… sweaters?  For one, even button ups and polos are suddenly gaining Affliction-like designs.  For another, button up shirts make me sweat.  For a third, I was forced to wear polos at work for three years.  I burned them all when it was over.  Well, without going into detail, I found some t-shirts that didn’t make me shake my head in shame at an outlet store in Tupelo today, as well as a couple of pairs of pants– actually not jeans!  I haven’t worn non-jeans (except at work) in um… ever.  I don’t know what either pair actually are, but they’re not khaki, so that’s fine.

Why am I boring you with talk of clothes?  Because that’s it.  No, seriously, that’s all there is.  I haven’t done anything exciting.  I’ve been to Jackson and Tupelo twice each over the last couple of weeks with different sets of people each time, and while those were fun trips, I don’t really think they would be of interest to anybody but those who accompanied me.  Other than that I have discovered that there are materials which appear green under certain light but very brown under others.  Again, hardly of interest to anybody that wasn’t involved.
