Going to California

Not really.  But tomorrow we’re leaving for Birmingham, AL.  Not sure how long we’re staying, though not more than 4 or 5 nights.  Minnie has said that she reserves the right, as well as gives me permission, to decide we should leave earlier than that if the fact that we’re staying with a member of her family gets kind of weird.  I agree with that sentiment, since to me this person is virtually a stranger.  I’ve met her several times; she used to live around here.  But I haven’t even seen her in several years, and the fact of the matter is that I may have spoken to her for a total of about 15 minutes.  We’ll see how this goes.  Minnie will have her little latptop, and I may update from down there.

I’m still having strange dreams.  I’m starting to wonder if maybe its because I’ve got no outlet for my thoughts and energy.  I can recall almost no strange dreams while I was working, except of course the ones that involved my being at work, usually under nightmarish conditions.  It’s altogether possible that I’m totally wrong about that, that I did have strange dreams, and I just don’t recall them.  …Actually, I just remembered the one about wading through knee-deep water in the streets of some big city and discovering an all-but-hidden restroom with the absolute most disgusting toilet I’ve ever seen imagined.

I found a book I forgot I had.  I’m Not Really Here by Tim Allen.  Yeah, that Tim Allen.  Turns out the book’s about 13 years old.  I’m only a couple dozen pages in, but it’s supposed to be about quantum physics, and how, depending on how we look at it, we may indeed not really be here.  It’s just the sort of subject I’ve been fond of lately, but considering it was written by Tim Allen, it might actually be written in a language that will be easy to understand.

So is it a comedy?
