a letter to the girls…

Hey ladies… I’m alive!!!!

I’m so sorry for being such a bad friend – I don’t have any excuse for not returning your calls or e-mails and I’m sorry about worrying you (Laura don’t call the cops!)
I don’t have any crazy stories that explain what I’ve been up to or why I’ve been so busy, basically I’ve just been working a ton (W and Dollarama). After work I’m pretty lame – I usually nap (although I never feel completely caught up on sleep) or babysit.

Birthday: Thank you guys for the b-day well wishes and singing – they made my dayJ I told some of you already, but Kori planned a surprise get-together at T’s (the pool hall downtown) and pretty much everyone from work came, which was nice. Lately I’ve been really into pool, although I usually play at Squirrely’s. Anyways, we went to Traps after T’s and I got far too drunk and when I ran into Ralph and Rob (hot Asians who used to work at $ama) I kissed Ralph. On the lips! It was what I wished for when I blew out my candles and it came true – kidding!

Retro Mason: So lonely L Zac and I are the only ppl here now and I rarely even see him. He works part-time with our relative in A. doing landscaping and the rest of his time is spent in B. with Sam (Josh’s older sister, the current love of his life) or up in P. at the Sinka’s trailer. Which is great for him.. Kudos to him for making decisions that make him truly happy. In September Zac’s leaving me and Guelph to move back home because he is enrolled in Fleming College for a welding program. He’s so glad to be done Uni. and moving on to study something he’s actually interested in. Sam’s fam is trying to move to the Kawartha area, too, so I can’t see Zac moving back to Guelph any time soon.

New Mason: Our nice girl house is now a dirty boy house. Don’t worry Jen, the Little Mermaid light switch plate is still intact, but I don’t think it’ll stay up for long. A man named Rob bought our house for his son Dan and 4 of his 2nd yr uni. friends to live. Every so often one of them drops in to bring some room stuff, except last weekend they stayed for the weekend. And they brought dogs. DOGS! In my house… ugh. I wasn’t here for most of the weekend (sorry I missed you Kristi, but I got the money – thanks!!!) but when they arrived, I was in the shower and didn’t know they were here. So I was changing in my room with the door open, thinking I was totally alone, when a dog wanders in and scares the shit out of me. I screamed which startled the dog, who ran headfirst into my wooden door, making a huge banging sound. Now I’m sure they think that I’m a dog beater… Also, the dogs wreaked havoc on my garden. So pissed. Anyways, they did a few repairs to the house, Kristi’s room is now soldier blue and there is the most massive tv I’ve ever seen in the basement. They (the house boys and another bunch of friends) also went downtown which resulted in me waking up to a lot of somewhat hot men in my kitchen on Saturday morning, searching for Dan (the son) who was MIA. It was kind of funny because he ended up being “at a friend’s house” but I really think he went home with a chick and didn’t tell anyone. They spent most of Saturday looking for him and even went to the police station. Boys will be boys….

Art: I might as well have spent 5 years in uni for mediocrity and retail training, because I haven’t done art at all since school. I’m going to do Art on the Street again in July, which is great except that at the moment I have 4 paintings to sell. FOUR! I really need to get cracking, I’m just totally unmotivated. I really want to use all of the canvases from school art projects so that when I move in August I don’t have to figure out what to do with them (assuming I sell a lot this summer – fingers crossed). So Zac and I graduated a few weeks ago. Christopher Plummer spoke at my convocation so that was pretty sweet. My parents and grandma came up for both of our ceremonies, I attached a few pics.

Work: Work is work. I have a new position at W doing web stuff like shipping web orders and updating the website. It’s fun and is a nice change from customer service, since I’m starting to lose patience with some customers and it shows. Dollarama is the same as always but I’m sticking with it because it breaks up my week and I love the people (most of them, haha). It also gives me an excuse to go to the Tim’s in the mall because there is a cute Asian named Danny that works there who always has my bev (lrg steeped tea, two milks, one sugar (yes – just one sugar these days, still trying to be a skinny bitch :P)) ready before I even reach the counter. I’m trying to get the courage to ask him to go on break with me (that’s the mall version of a date) but we’ll see.

Men: Aside from hot Asian, I might as well be gay.

YOU! I’m so glad that everyone is having success with life and work – hurray! We’re all employed! I can’t believe that half of us don’t even live in Ontario anymore. I’m going to make more of an effort to keep up with e-mails and such – starting today 😉
