Moving SUCKS.

First things first!!  My mom suggested the best nickname for my husband, better than anything I could come up with.  She said, "Well, what about Torch?" because of his welding and stuff, and I took that and have decided to take it a step further and call him The Human Torch…or THT for short.  🙂

Now, on to the main topic of this post…

moving sucks HARDCORE.  Packing while my husband is at work for 6-8 hours every day and while it’s super hot outside has really taken it out of me.  My feet have decided they are going to start swelling and be uncomortable when I walk, and that’s made it really fun to squat and bend and kneel to pack and clean.

We’re really looking forward to being in Pocatello and so much closer to Speed Racer.  Everything has fallen into place housing-wise and now we are just waiting for the right jobs to show up for THT.  I am still job-searching too…we’ll see.  I may not be able to find a job until after I have the baby.

Speaking of the baby, we found out that we are having a girl 🙂  We found out last Thursday and we are very excited.  During the ultrasound, we got to see her yawn…it was the cutest thing!!  But both the tech and the dr said she looks healthy and normal and right about where she should be developmentally for 21 weeks.  I felt happy and blessed at that news 🙂  And now that I know what the baby is, I can finally start picking out and crocheting things for her!  The first and main project will be a baby dress…I blogged about it on my crochet blog, which you can read here if you want.  It will be gorgeous, I’m excited to work on it…now that I’ve picked out the pattern I’m really anxious to go get the yarn for it!

More about moving…part of our contract states that we have to have the carpets professionally cleaned…well we kind of got taken for a ride on that and last night THT and my brother had to redo the carpets.  THT is planning on having words with the boss of the guy that did it, because the carpet looked horrible after the guy was done, and when my brother used the machine my dad has, he got a ton more dirt and cat hair out of the carpet.  They want to charge us $98 for the job…we’ve decided we’ll only pay half, if anything.  It was ridiculous.

So now that we finally have our apartment done, we are trying to focus on my parents’ place.  That’s taking considerably more work and more would have been done with it except we had my mom’s sister and her 5 kids here for two weeks.  Having company always makes it more difficult to do things that need to be done and this time around was no exception.  It was good to see them, and we enjoyed the visit, but I know my parents are feeling the strain of being down to the wire.  We were aiming to load the truck this Monday and drive over on Tuesday, but only about half the house is packed.  I guess we’ll just have to play it by ear.

I am feeling the baby at least 2-3 times a day…it is a strange but awesome feeling.  She drums her little heels ony my bladder and the ultrasound showed that she is currently breech.  I am hoping she turns herself around at some point…I don’t really want to have to have a C-section for my first!  Whatever happens is what happens, though, I guess, and maybe it’ll be for the best.

I better go try to be productive at least a little bit today.
