Mozzie Plague!

We went to do our shopping this morning, (groceries) and let me tell you, it is a health hazard, just getting from the house to the garage and into the car right now!

Mosquitos! Millions of them! By the time you’ve walked from the back door to the garage (20 meters approximately) They’ve detected you. Then you stop to unlock the garage door and they’re swarming all around you. It’s then a race to get the door unlocked, get to the car, get into the car and get the door shut without bringing a dozen or so of the little biters with you!

We didn’t manage to get into the car sans mozzies, and so the first part of the trip to the shops was spent with the windows down, slapping at the jolly things, trying to kill or evict them.

Once at the shops and away from our yard, which has a few mango trees (notorious for harboring mozzies) and backs onto a pineapple plantation (also notorious) we were given some respite from the things.

But of course, after shopping, you have to run the whole gauntlet again.

A couple of years ago, during the wet season, we had a plague of frogs which wiped out the mosquito population for most of that summer.

How does one go about ordering a frog plague?
