First Day At Work
Today is my first day at work. There was a bit of a confusion with the HR because the police vetting hasn’t been completed yet, but the contract did say that today is my first day.
So I had a bit of manual reading, lots of shelving, Health and Safety reading, informational DVD watching, and oh! knitting.
Yes, knitting. They have a regular 1-hour knitting session every Sunday 2:00 – 3:00 PM. It was fun! My hands were still a bit wobbly but with practice, I think I might actually get used to it.
I enjoyed my first day working at the library. I actually lost track of time while looking for the requested books (I didn’t know it was time for mandatory morning tea until my colleague reminded me). I found 54 out of 63 requested books. Not bad. Some of them might have been hiding somewhere, my colleagues told me. I’ll try to do better tomorrow. I hope to find every last book in the list.
So, I hope they clear out the confusion tomorrow, so I can work with my mind at ease. And I can start with the proper training. Although I don’t mind going around all the sections, taking out and shelving books every day.
It’s me,
Figliarina Lacrimosa
P.S.
Welcome back, OD!!!! I missed you!
Fascinating . Mandatory tea and a knitting hour! I love your library. Mine were never like that.
