My frankenstein
Weight: 144.8
Hey, sports fans. I know I haven’t written in a while. Last week was the week of valentines day, so i had a ton to do. I barely got excercise in, but i squeezed it in at the last second. so, with the formalities out of the way, let me tell you about my experiments.
Since the age of seventeen, I’ve had…digestive problems…yeah, well go with that. it all started with my first hardcore diet when i took a vitamin shop dietpill with ephedra…that worked wonders. really. i lost 40lbs on that pill. stupid FDA. Truth is, that after a couple of months, it no longer works, anyway…and it gives you rotten insomnia.
Flash foreward to last may when i started my serious diet. I’ve lost a total of 16lbs since then and have only fluctuated around there since. the lowest i’ve been since then is about 141. i’m sick of being stuck at this stupid plateau, so in recent weeks, I’ve taken steps…and done lots and lost of research. I’m a science nerd, it’s what I do.
So far, I have read the following books:
The Fiber 35 Diet
You ON a Diet
Ultra Metabolism
The south beach diet
The Skinny
and I’ve taken the following steps:
A 14 day full body cleanse…though i may have to do another one, because psyllium is known to have negative effects.
I bought a Brita Filter(our water is so dirty it clouds…the brita is my saviour)
I bought an elliptical machine. specifically the Weslo Momentum 730….available at walgreens for less than a hundred dollars. in truth it was diffucult to construct, so if you decide to get this hope elliptical, keep a bottle of WD 40, and a tool box next to it. you need a few tools of your own.
More recently, I bought digestive enzymes…not the stupid ones you see on the infomercials. I bought ones for about 14 dollars at vitacost.com. i also compounded that purhcase with probiotic(bacteria that promotes digestion in the intestines)….I’ve read that digestive enzymes can have a positive effect on weight loss, but it is not hailed as a weight loss miracle because it takes up to 12 weeks to have any kind of effect.
But I have noticed some major differences. On the whole I am less gassy and bloaty.
Finally, and everyone who reads this will probably think I’m nuts, but my research has led me to one more thing. an ab belt. more specifically, The Slendertone. Yes, I hate situps and am looking for a way to by pass them. No, I am not looking for a way to bipass diet an excercise all together.

and I was able to find the FDA findings as well, and looked on the actual FDA website for varification. the findings of the tests were that the belt strengthened and toned the Abdominal muscles, and there was a decrease in general waist size, but none of the users lost any weight. But in the study, they weren’t encouraged to diet at all. Considering that I already do plenty of cardio already, and all of my chub seems to be focused around the middle. The whole thing is that pooch. that stupid pooch.
Since I do about 1200 calories of excercise per day and eat about 1800 calories per day, the only way for me to push through this stupid plateau is to develop lean muscle. in You On a Diet, Michael Roizen stated that an ounce of muscle burns 125 calories per day, where an ounce of fat burns 3. do the math on that one. anyway, the other muscle building excercises I don’t have a problem doing, its just the stupid stomach I can’t get a handle on. really, I’ve never used them. so i figure, why not. I bought it on amazon and i’ve got nothing better to do than play doc. frankestein on myself for a few weeks. i’ll report back any postive or negative results.
Wow, it sounds like you really did your homework! Good luck to you!

I’ve read tons of books on diet and exercise but so many of them suggest eating a proper amount of calories and exercising as much as you can and that will eventually work. Yes, I have plateaus sometimes and would love awesome abs but I am usually happy with my results. Have you read Jorge Cruise’s books? I did 3 of his 8 minutes in the morning books for months and they toned me up quite well!

…but yeah if you notice any results from all of your diet experiments I would love to know them. I’ve tried loads of different diets. Have you heard of the idiot diet that’s online? I know people that have had success with that as well.
