Happy Thursday

It was an interesting day. I worked, of course, so I spent a lot of time reading "The Sun Also Rises" by Hemingway and walking around. I got that book from Paul, by the way, though I’m sure I didn’t steal it. I think a couple of years ago he told me I could keep it because he thought it was boring, but I’m scared to ask now because I don’t want him to get mad if I did steal it. Basically, if I date you I’ll probably end up stealing some of your books.

I went to work today and was met with a rather mysterious and anonymous note left in my inbox:

Not signed, fair enough. Given the receptionist schedule at the park, I figured it could have been one of three guys– Matt, the guy I trained with for a month; Brendan, the guy I never worked with but have spoken to a few times; or Josh, the maintenance guy I’ve talked to several times and have shared jokes with. I analyzed their handwriting a little, and the ‘g’ seems to point more toward Josh or Matt.

I would never characterize myself as forward or outgoing, but I am impatient (so I guess I might be forward, given my history with dudes and whatever). Because of that I asked Josh if he left the note (he said no), and emailed Matt and Brendan to see if they left it. They haven’t responded to me yet.

Aside from that stuff, I’ve been wondering if I should cut animal products out of my diet. Listening to NPR I’ve of course heard from a lot of people who don’t believe that the level of energy required to produce animal products is sustainable. Fair enough. It’s just too easy to eat fast food, you know?

I’m really trying to change my eating habits though, so we’ll see. Anyway, I suppose things are fine. I don’t want to be an Obamamaniac, though I’m terribly excited that he’s closing Guitmo and putting a pay freeze on his top  staff members. I do admire the Daily Show for pointing out that he isn’t perfect– I know he isn’t perfect and he isn’t my saviour, but I need some kind of semblance of hope after everything that has gone on lately. Call me naive, but I need it. A lot of other Americans need it too.

Anyway, I’m tired. Hopefully I’ll feel creative enough soon to produce an entry with substance.

Have you emailed sally? Have you analysed her handwriting?

I’ve never seen somebody be so shy to not try and be someones friend. So shy in fact that its kinda odd. I’m sure whoever it is, is a nice person, but that is just weird to the regular untrained eye.

PS. The Sun Also Rises is a great read. I hope you are enjoying it!

i am a food nerd, in that i eat mostly organic, and if not that then certainly all-natural, foods. ideally at least 1/3 of your daily consumption should be raw foods– fruits and vegetables in uncooked, unprocessed states. i’m a huge advocate for sustainable and biodynamic agriculture. it’s good stuff… and nutrition is very important to me. so it’s cool to see your interest in that.

btw– the note thing is rather cool and somewhat of a romantic mystery, perhaps. a very cute way to initiate hang-out, but now if only the author would make himself known, eh?

Cute note. Hopefully you figure out who it is soon.
