High in pics, low in other content

Remember how I wrote an entry at like 2am because I woke up? Well. I didn’t end up getting back to sleep until almost 6am. My alarm was set for 630 or so, so I of course turned it off without really realizing it, and woke up at 848am instead. I had to be to work at 9am, so bleh. I got ready pretty quickly (meaning I didn’t wash my hair or really eat anything), and ended up getting to work around 935. I guess it’s cool that my boss didn’t really seem to care at all, and I was working the Park job so there really wasn’t much to do anyway.

I didn’t really do much today. The phone only rang a couple of times, so I just spent the rest of the time pretending to tend to the fire, reading, taking pictures and looking around. I also went outside like… twice… but that was a bad idea (right now the temperature is -7 sans wind chill, and it’s pretty windy) and hurt like crazy. I did end up taking a few pictures, like I said, of some stuff at work. It isn’t really a tour, because I think that would be kindof boring. Instead it’s just a few things that I wanted to take pictures of. Umm… yeah.

Umm… this is some of the land. There are a few hundred acres at the park, and what’s in the picture is a lake. You can’t tell though, I guess:

Sometimes the decks get icy. These things happen:

This is one of the things I do at work all day:

Another thing I do is get creeped out by the many taxadermied birds in the building. Here is one particularly creepy specimen. LOOK AT ITS PUPIL OH MY GOD:

Sometimes I hang out with the taxadermied dudes, though they always say inappropriate things. (the beak in the corner of the picture is the same dude’s beak pictured above):

Oh yeah, there’s also Sally, of course! I know I mentioned before that she likes to hang out inside of a rolled up poster in the gift shop, and I also got a picture of it, but I took another picture of her in the poster today. This one is important because it really shows her long, apparently metal death claws (she just woke up in this picture so she looks particularly cranky):

But… yeah. I guess it’s okay that she has metal death claws, because she’s small enough that I can control her. I force her sometimes to be my BFF:

I think that’s pretty much it. I would write more, but nothing else has been happening. Also, I think Renee made some pizza and I’m freakin’ hungry. Tomorrow I work at the Co-op from 9am-1pm, and the Park from 2pm-6pm. It shouldn’t be so bad.

Awesome entry! I love the one with you talking to the heron and the quail. (that is a quail, right?) Always wondered how a turtle smiled. I guess I’ll have to wait for another day to see that one! 🙂

Yikes, look at those claws! Haha I like your face in that one picture… and that bird looks evil (one with evil pupil). And, wow, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen real snow!!!!

That looks like a mounted Kestrel near your chin. Years ago a Kestrel was flying above my S-10 truck with a mouse in his talons and as I drove beneath he dropped it and it bounced off my hood leaving a mouse dent. One of my more interesting encounters with wildlife. 🙂 I am traveling The Atheist road tonight. My Regards
