Ice and stuffs

Well, today was a very busy day.

We had a crazy ice storm a few days ago, causing around a half inch of ice to cover EVERYTHING. It would be beautiful if it weren’t so dangerous (i.e., if I lived in a place with neither trees nor cars). I was scheduled to work this morning, and after sitting around in the parking lot for like 25 minutes (I don’t have my own set of keys yet), my manager informed me (after I called him!) that the power had been out there for a few days and that I could take the day off. Um…. great! Good thing I got to drive all the way out there and sit around for a while! Hrmph.

I came back to the apartment and decided that I should do something with my day, since I was awake and it was early. I’ve been a little interested in feng shui lately (mainly because I’ve been having trouble sleeping and wanted some excuse for it), and found out that my bed was in the most UN-FENG SHUI-ISH (?) position possible! I spent a long time clearing stuff out of the way so I could have my bed oriented N instead of NE, also putting my bed in the “command position” and making it easier for.. umm.. chi to flow through. I don’t really know much about this and am not necessarily into it, but a change it always nice.

And yeah, the weather still sucks. I went for a drive today and saw two pretty bad car accidents without having to drive too far. Unfortunately we are going to have another snow storm tonight. The wind is also being kindof a jerk, bringing temperatures in the negatives! Blech.

I have always wanted to learn to beatbox, so I’ve been watching tutorial videos online and have been practicing. I don’t think I’m controlling my breathing very well though because it’s giving me a headache. I’m gonna be so rad at this, I can tell!

What else? Oh, I’m going to be traveling to Georgia in a few days. I have family there and haven’t been there for a few years, so I’m pretty excited about it. It will also be nice to get away from this crazy damn weather for a few days.

I was talking to Paul earlier about the drink he was going to choose on the plane (he’s flying out to California tonight), and I was remembering how they give you those little plastic cups filled with ice to pour your drink into. I then began to remember how much ice pisses me off, because if you don’t drink quickly enough it waters shit down. I don’t like having to drink on a damn time schedule! Blech again.

I can’t think of anything interesting to say, so I’ll leave you with the most amazing thing I have ever stumbled across in my entire life:

the comment about the ice made me laugh because it’s so true and it bothers me, too. Eek to the snow storms. Stay safe!

I can’t believe the manager didn’t call YOU to tell you you didn’t have to come in! You had to shlep all that way in the ice, didn’t it occur to them that that’s DANGEROUS? Ugh. I hate stupid people, sorry. Feng shui is interesting. I found out I actually did a lot of things right in setting up my room without trying. So did you have your bed with your feet facing out the door? I’m told that’s the worst place for it. I don’t even know how much it actually works. You’re beatboxing? Look at you being all talented and stuff. *jealous* Have fun in warm Georgia!
