Suspension and safety
Ooo, I’m writing before work! I can’t remember the last time this has happened.
So we managed to plant all of the trees at work that we needed to this year. Woooooooooooo! I’m just happy because now we don’t have to break our backs planting for people who don’t even care. I can also put on my resume that we planted 2,000 trees in the last 8 months. Whatevs.
I have only about 8 weeks left here. Hopefully my mom and/or Renee will be able to drive back to IN with me. I feel bad because I don’t want them to be financially strained; especially my mom because she seems to have a lot on her plate right now. Mom! It’s okay if you can’t make it. For reals.
Oh, so I got a short message from Paul last night letting me know he’s arrived safely to his destination in Peru. I was stressing out because I hadn’t heard from him for about 2 days, and even went so far as to google "Peru" and "Plane"-what can I say? I worry. He’s fine though, just understandably tired from traveling. I feel much better just knowing he’s okay, and now I’m not so stressed about receiving an email from him.
Oh, you remember Ian from work? He got suspended without pay for a few days. After all the complaints from Americorps members, staff, and even residents, plus the fact that he hit 2 cars with company vehicles, what finally made him get suspended? He showed up to our volunteer thing on Sunday (where the people were crazy over the free bags?) very late, and NOT in uniform. I guess they were really only pissed because Ian didn’t seem to care. Yeah, they judged him pretty accurately; he doesn’t care and is only at this job as a last resort. He thinks he knows better than everyone, and says he has bigger things to worry about than this OCF?Americorps drama.
I should make a documentary about poor work ethic, featuring many of the people I’m in Americorps with now! I would make… well, probably no money. Maybe I could sell it to their parents though!
I know this entry’s a little short, but I need to finish my granola (yum!) and coffee (BLECH) and get ready for another action packed day spent serving America.
wow. I would have thought that people working for Americorp would have a better work ethic!

2,000 trees! That would be obscene if it weren’t so neat. Though I’m sure it’s exhausting to think about. So glad Paul made it safely! As for Ian? Pbbbbbbt. I’d love to see your documentary. Crikey. Hope you have a good day!

it could be a video used in future training! I hate terrible work ethic. I went to the bank today to make a deposit, and so my co-workers could meet the baby. – while i was there i answered the phone twice and directed a customer to an FSR – all while holding the baby 🙂 Its just a natural reaction when you see a customer waiting and no one has spoken to them or when the phone rings relentlessly

Wow man, congrats on finishing the tree planting! I’m glad no body dropped dead from the heat! Whew, I know you were worried about him so I’m very pleased that he let you know he was allright. I hope he feels special that you care about him so much! Hahah, Ian… still remembering what I said about him last night in aim…>:)
