Favoritism
I woke up at 7am this morning! That is crazy. Well, I did go to sleep around 10pm last night. CRAZIER. Well, I guess waking up so early is crazier, but whatever.
What a lazy day it has been. I drove around this morning to look for running shoes. After an hour or two I started to think that my 9-year-old tennis shoes aren’t that bad or that old, so instead of spending $70-$100 on new good running shoes, I spent $14 on some brown lightweight Mary Jane’s at Payless. I’m not going to run in them of course, but see how much money I saved? Plus I figure my old tennis shoes will be good until they fall apart. Yeah, this is a pretty normal way of thinking for me (I know this isn’t good for my knees. Meh.).
This afternoon I brewed some tea, did some laundry, talked to Paul and watched reruns of America’s Next Top Model. They are very smart for running marathons of it on Sundays. Oh, I also went to Whole Foods this afternoon and got, among other things, Politically Incorrect Trail Mix. It has sesame sticks, nuts, orange…things…and other stuff. Anyway, the trouble with trail mix is picking favorites. I like the orange crunchy things and will naturally dig them out, but it makes eating the other stuff seem like a chore. If not that, I have orange crunchy things dancing in my head while I eat the other things. ::siiigh::
I went jogging again today but now my shins and thighs hurt, so I’m going to take the day off tomorrow and let my tiny little muscles recover.
Welp! I’m off.
I feel the same way about trail mixes and other mixed-up-foods. I try to make myself close my eyes, grab a bunch, and just eat whatever comes out, but when I do that I get all disappointed because I tend to get a whole handful of whatever the worst thing in the bag is. *sigh*

They need to make a trail mix that is nothing but raisins, almonds, dried cranberries, dried cherries, and peanuts. Then again I’d prolly be better off making my own. But when I eat trail mix I naturally go for the fruit first, then feel sad when it’s all gone. I understand the mentality with the shoes. Lance told me the other day I need new shoes and instead of getting 40 dollar (on sale)hiking boots I got a pair of slippers for 11 dollars. Still need to get shoes for the wedding and a pair of everyday shoes. It’ crazy. But I hope your knees hold up and your shins and thighs recover. *hugs*
