Deformed Babies

haha they dont come out deformed!! LOL they are either mentally not all there, or they get diseases…lamans terms…theyre tards. p.s. stay away from your cousin! lol [ms_new_booty]

I’m not going to debate this, but yes they can come out deformed. The closer the relative the more likely it will come out defected then if you would have one that is not so close of a relative, but even then there is a chance it will. Defects that cause a baby to be deformed happen because relatives are much more likely to share the same alleles then unrelated individuals. This is especially important for deleterious recessive genes, which are harmless and inactive in a heterozygous pairing, but when homozygous can cause serious developmental defects. Such offspring have a much higher chance of death before reaching the age of reproduction, leading to what biologists call inbreeding depression, a measurable decrease in fitness due to inbreeding among populations with deleterious recessives.

Take Care!

Wow, that was awfully scientific sounding. I know there’s all the medical jargon behind why you shouldn’t marry your own brother, but I think at the end of the day most of us just … think it’s icky!

I had a professor that always insisted that inbreeding really wasn’t as bad biologically as people made it out to be and the negative stigmatism was as much a social construct as it was scientific fact. He had compelling studies to back it up. Though eventually his insistence got me to question his motives for arguing the point.
