All you do to give a hickey is to suck (normally that’s what people do) or bite on your partners skin long enough so that the blood gets drawn up to the skin. You don’t have to go for to long, but you want to go long enough so that you can see if, that that is what you are trying to do.

Sucking… When you are sucking on (lets say the neck) you want to suck kind of hard, but you don’t want to suck to hard so that it hurts your partner, though you want to suck hard enough so that the blood gets drawn up.

Biting… Biting anyplace on someone you don’t want to bite to hard so that blood comes out; unless they like it like that. You kind of want to nibble on the neck though also suck why you are biting there neck to give them a hickey.

You can do it to yourself on your hand to get the idea of it first if you don’t think you can do it to your partner first. This way you can get the idea of how hard to suck and bite. I like to bite when I do it, though I don’t always mean to give them it just happens, at least with Matthew it did. I couldn’t help myself 🙂 Anyway, hope this helped. Take Care!
