So I think I just got "scarlet lettered." It hurts. I guess I’m grateful to learn who my real friends are. The pain, though, of learning that some people are so ready to walk away from you is pretty awful.
It’s scary because it makes me withdrawal. It makes me want to avoid everyone who could potentially be closer to John than to me. Many of us were really good friends, and yet, some people now think I’m just a girl with low moral standards who fucked over John. Genius. Breathe, Katie.
I’m not without good friends. April, Victor, my brother Jason, Matthew. John may even eventually be a friend. Is it really such a big loss to say goodbye to a few people that I’ve only known for a handful of years? Shit happens. I will make new friends. People can sit on their high horses all they want. We all fall down eventually.
I read your entry and no one knows what receiving a “scarlet letter” is like unless you have received one. I send you positive thoughts this difficult time. Stay close to those who are supportive. Hang in there.

Got your diary on random and read through some of your entries. I hope that things get better for you soon. Real friends are hard to find. If you want to talk sometime I’m around 🙂

You are doing the bravest, and hardest thing you could possibly do. Those people have no right to look down on you, you realised that you needed to change your life and you did it. That takes guts. Everyone wishes they could do it but most people run scared. I can’t imagine how rubbish things feel at the minute but it’ll get better. Fingers crossed they get better sooner rather than later:)

Also, thanks for the advice! It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who doesn’t want to settle.
