Update!
Yeah, I’d love to say I’ve been busy but I haven’t been. Just tired. I have one more rotation to go before I start a twelve-day vacation! I had planned on going to AWA but I think I’m going to skip it this year since I don’t have the money to take anyone with me. Bummer.
I bought a shotgun a few days ago. A Remington Model 870 Express 12 gauge in case anyone is wondering. And I didn’t pay anywhere near that price for it, which is kind of weird since that’s the MSRP and it is a new gun. That will be a lot more useful than the .410 in case I have to do something decisive about the bear and in anti-intruder defense as well.
I got my concealed carry permit today, and after some checking apparently I can carry openly in most areas of the state, but I probably won’t.
I’ve decided to use my upcoming vacation as a chance to get a jump start on getting in shape. I really want to see if I can arrange a hunt next year and I’m way too heavy and out of shape for my own liking. It would suck if the guide had to call an extra ATV in to haul me out as well as the deer. If I enjoy it as much as I think I will I may try to save up for a moose or elk hunt in a few years. You definitely need a guide for those.
I’ve also come to realize that I now need a gun cabinet. I really didn’t think I’d ever have enough guns to need one but I now have four shotguns (two hand-me-downs and two of my own) and I’ll have to buy at least two rifles, one for deer and one for cowboy shooting (which I’m kind of interested in).
Pretty much all I have for now.
Wow, that’s lots of guns. I know nothing about them, but support your right to own them. I hope you enjoy your time off and don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Hopefully you can relax and enjoy a little too. Take care!
