Applied for a concealed carry permit today

Yeah, that’s about the high point of the day. I should be asleep. I have to work tonight. I started to fall asleep around 0800 or so, closed my eyes and abruptly woke up at 0930 for no good reason. And I can’t get back to sleep! It’s 1500 now.

So, my adventure at the courthouse really wasn’t all that adventurous. I told them what I was there for, they took my driver’s license and my money, filled the forms out for me and told me where to go to get fingerprinted. All in all a pretty straight-forward process. Much easier than Florida, where I got the application packet but never turned it back in. And pretty cheap too, a total of $75. I should hear back anytime from two weeks to thirty days, depending on what kind of mood the FBI and GBI offices are in when they get my prints. And as an added note, my fingerprints are now winding their way into AFIS so if I’m ever wandering around with no idea who I am my fingerprints will serve to identify me.

That’s pretty well it. I might try to grill some burgers since I couldn’t yesterday because of the remnants of Tropical Storm Lee. Or I might not.
