Walked almost two miles today

And all at once too!

I went down to the path in the park by the river down where I take K to play. It’s a nice, adequately lit path, mostly paved. There is about a hundred or so yard long extension at one end that is still gravel, but it’s well packed and not squishy or anything. The parks department will probably pave it next year if there’s any money left over in the budget, but they have been doing a lot of renovating and repairing lately so it may be gravel for a while.

Ate more today than I did yesterday, still some tummy troubles but not to the extent they were on Monday. I don’t know how long it’s going to take to get completely back to normal.  Speaking of eating, I have to find something new to eat for lunch when I’m at work. I really like this shrimp-fried rice we sell, but I guess I’ll have to stop eating it since I had no less than six people tell me over the course of Saturday and Sunday that they had deadly shellfish allergies. Then why are you working in a place that sells seafood? Whatever.

I’ve got to start staying in the building to eat so I can a) save money and b) eat healthy, but a large number of our employees have no concept of a manager’s lunch being "me" time. I used to eat in the office but I can’t do that anymore since there are so many people that use it now, so I have to eat in the break room if I stay in the building, but again with the lack of "me" time. I’m definitely going back to Weight Watcher’s/Lean Cuisine meals for lunch though, so unless I put a monster inverter in my truck and buy a microwave and freezer for it I’m stuck.

I’ve gained back about five of the twenty pounds I lost, but I’m not freaked out since it only took four days to lose the twenty pounds. I knew it wouldn’t all stay off, but I’ll get down to where I need to be eventually. The thing that really, truly, deeply bugs me about my weight is not the weight itself, but the fact that it’s all fat. I weight about 330lbs, I want to get down to 180lbs (don’t worry, not gonna try to do it in six months or anything stupid. I know it’ll take at least eight or ten…) so that’s 150lbs to lose. My scale consistently gives me a fat mass reading of of 40%. Apply a little fifth (or sixth) grade math and you’ll find that the 150lbs I want to lose comprise almost exactly 45% of my actual body weight. So underneath all the lard is a ticked-off skinny dude wondering why the guy that ate him can’t seem to stop, you know, eating. Two years. It’s gonna take two years to do this properly, and even then I’ll probably have to have skin reduction surgery at the end of it. How on earth did  I manage to do this? I weighed about 190lbs when I graduated high school, but I was a little more muscular then. I think I got down to around 150lbs a few years later after I moved out on my own for the first time when I was always working and rarely eating. And even then a twenty-year-old’s metabolism can forgive more than a thirty-nine-year-old’s. There was a time when I could make a two-for-one Pizza Hut medium pizza deal into three day’s worth of meals, now if I’m dumb enough to have it in the house I’m pressed to make it last three hours.

Back to work in the morning. We had visitors today so I have no idea what kind of moods everyone will be in, not to mention my missed day on Monday. Whatever.

Good night everyone!
