Pissed as hell

OK, it turns out that not only did Blondie not reprimand the person I needed her to reprimand right before she left, the overnight people didn’t get reprimanded either thanks to her. She "didn’t feel comfortable" and didn’t think she "had all the facts" and some other BS. And the thing that pisses me off the most is how I found out the overnight folks didn’t get reprimanded.

I was talking to Other Senior Manager today, and I had been meaning to ask him to do this for a week or so now, about the two overnight stockers and I didn’t think it was fair for them to get reprimanded when the hourly manager in charge of the department didn’t get reprimanded, so I asked him to take them out of the system. We couldn’t find them. When Twiggy came in (she was supposed to have handled it for me) we asked her the names of the two stockers, thinking maybe she had someone working out of their area that night and she told us she never reprimanded them. She said Blondie and Facility Manager told her not to, it wouldn’t be right. WTF?

So I get held accountable when my people don’t do their jobs (and this isn’t special stuff, this is normal every day stuff in the same class as washing your hands after you use the toilet: I shouldn’t have to tell you every day, you should just frakking DO it) but I’m not allowed to hold them accountable since it’s somehow my fault they can’t follow instructions that have been given to them daily for the past six months. I can’t hold that hourly manager accountable for not following direction I gave him three times on the day in question.

I’m done with it. This is getting written down and documented in my "Go To War" file. Heaven help them if they try to hold me accountable for something I’ve been told I can’t hold my employees accountable for. If they want to take me out they are gonna be so scratched and bruised by the time I’m gone they’ll wish they never heard of me. And so will District, and Regional, and Divisional, and Corporate. Start playing The Imperial March when I walk in the door, it’s on.
