Five more days!

Yep, that’s right, I get the keys to my new place in five more days!

The schedule so far is as follows: Wednesday night I get off work and drive to the cabin where I get laundry caught up and collect plastic crates to pack with. Thursday morning the termite inspection at the cabin (the real reason I’m there) takes place and I’m off to my place to pack. Thursday night, after CSI, I disassemble the entertainment center and the home network and load all the various components in the truck, if there is no rain in the forecast I’ll go ahead and strap the guest bed to the top of the truck then as well, else I’ll wait until morning. Friday at 0930 I leave here to head to the new place, getting the keys at 1000. I quickly unload and stage the entertainment and network equipment, unload the guest bed and make at least one more trip before the cable guy shows up at 1300.

Yep, I got this thing wired.

I’ve been told to wear my working clothes tomorrow rather than dressing like the peacock the corporate office thinks is more appropriate for my "station" so to speak. We got in six thousand pieces Thursday night, there were five thousand on the schedule for Friday, and I don’t know what all came in Saturday night but it’s all been building up in the back rooms. fortunately we only have two thousand cases tonight, but day shift will be throwing freight all day tomorrow, and we may still not get caught up.

I had forgotten what a tremendous racket the big window unit in the front room of my apartment makes. I am not going to miss that at all. The new place has central heat and A/C. Yay me! I forgot to look, since it’s been so long anyway, but it might even have a dishwasher. That would rock!

Ok, I’ve got to go harvest my freaking grapes in FarmVille then it’s off to dreamland for me!
