Christmas stuff and guns
Yeah, not a normal combination in a title but what the heck.
I have the major portion of my decorations up now. I have some finishing touches to put up, but for the most part I’m done. I always buy extra stuff at the after Christmas clearance so my display gets a little more elaborate every year.
Now that I’m used to cutting expenses to the bone and I know I can pay twice what I’m paying for rent if I have to it’s been a little easier to keep expenses under control since I got paid last week. This was the first paycheck I didn’t have to pay back rent with and it suddenly seemed like a lot more money. I’m gonna buy myself a .22, or maybe an inexpensive 12 ga next paycheck. There’s an Opossum wandering around that’s getting a little aggressive, and I don’t want to risk the neighbor’s cat or one of the kids getting bitten. The cat’s a semi-feral stray that hangs around because she feeds it, so if it got bit and got rabies or something then it would just be a bigger pain in the ass than it already is. I figure a .22 with rat shot in it or a 12 ga with a light load in it should take care of it handily and not do too much damage to the porch if it comes to that.
Came close to buying a 32" Sony Bravia on Friday, but Wal-Mart mis-printed their ad and instead of it being an all-day item that went on sale at midnight it didn’t go on sale until five, and I had no intention of being in the middle of all that. Besides, I had to be at work at eight and really needed to get some sleep. I think, after I get moved in Jan/Feb, I’m going to see if I can swing the 52" Bravia instead. What the heck, right?
couldn’t you just get animal control to set a live trap or something?

Borrow a gun if you’re only going to use it once. Trapping the pest might be a better option. Then you can let it loose in another neighborhood haha!
