More doctor stuff and Thanksgiving stuff
OK, my latest set of labs came back normal, but the prior abnormal labs coupled with my recent symptoms have prompted my doctor to schedule and ultrasound of my upper right quadrant, leading me to think *she* thinks there is a blockage or something somewhere in/around my liver or gall bladder. Yay. The nurse is handling all the insurance stuff, getting the test pre-approved and all, so they are just going to give me call and let me know when and where to show up. Again, no idea when it will be, probably next week some time, but now that I’m 4/2 instead of 3/3 odds are I’ll have to miss more work. Great.
Had Thanksgiving dinner at the cabin with an old friend I haven’t seen in almost twenty years. We went to church together and graduated high school the same year. I don’t know what she did to the turkey but it was really good. It was probably the first baked turkey I’ve ever had that wasn’t even a little bit dry. She and her family and in-laws are staying there for the week. I’ll have to go up next week and winterize the cabin again, but it’s no big. I have laundry I have to do anyway.
I have to work today. In about five hours as a matter of fact. I went to bed feeling kind of bad (again) around 2000 last night thinking I’d probably sleep straight through, but at 0200 I was up and couldn’t get back to sleep. Crap. Nothing on the TiVo worth watching, and some downright silly shows on cable. I mean honestly, someone complaining that they have never been able to find a Hanukkah wreath? Um, maybe because they are strictly a symbol of the Christmas season that was co-opted by the church from the pagan custom of hanging greenery during the time of the solstice? I’m sure the Maccabees appreciate her efforts though…
